In 2021, Kate and Dan Wright designed and built their own children’s role-play village in Derbyshire — a handcrafted miniature world combined with a premium café and dedicated party space, created to give families a calmer, more meaningful alternative to traditional play environments.
What began as a personal project quickly became the spark for Role-Play Villages Ltd, meeting growing demand from businesses seeking play areas that felt thoughtful, beautiful and full of possibility. Today, we design and build immersive play environments for settings across the UK and Europe. Alongside our bespoke installations, we offer a commercial grade furniture range and freestanding vehicles that enable venues to refresh and upgrade their role-play offer with beautifully built, durable pieces available to order online.
As recognition of the educational value of role-play continued to grow, so did the need for commercial grade, moveable role-play environments — especially for nurseries and community venues seeking high quality, durable solutions. In 2026, our PlayPod range was launched to meet that demand.
